Helps Ministry

"For even the Son of Man (Jesus) did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." – Mark 10:45
Behind the scenes at Calvary Chapel Olympia, a small army of dedicated volunteers works quietly but diligently to help us through challenging moments in our lives.

Twenty years ago, some ladies in the Calvary body responded to calls for help: helping a patient recover from surgery, helping a new parent with a baby, helping to provide meals or groceries for families. The common thread: HELP.

Now, an entire Helps ministry is dedicated to responding to needs in our church body and in our community. Volunteers not only bless others, but this ministry also provides volunteers with an opportunity to use their specific Holy Spirit-given gifts and talents.
(1 Corinthians 12:4-7 and 1 Corinthians 15:58)
Humbling ourselves to ask for help is often difficult, but receiving that help is so much easier when it is given with the love of Jesus. When problems arise, we encourage you to first seek help among your established friends and small groups here at CCO. For instance, through your Home Group or among those at your Bible study. If your needs still cannot be met, then please contact us.

The Helps ministry acts as the “hands and feet of Jesus” to help those in need and the church as a whole from everything to emergencies, non-emergencies, church events and more.
