"Cultural differences can be a challenge… especially when you find yourself looking at things through ‘American eyes." – Karl & Diana Kathrein
Karl and Diana Kathrein had been members of Calvary for a longtime because of the simple approach to teaching the Bible, discipling, and equipping believers.
In 2009, they moved to Germany to serve at a Calvary Chapel. They have been at Calvary Chapel Herborn, providing leadership for men’s and women’s ministries and especially for missions outreach. They have had the opportunity to lead their church on outreaches within Germany, to Haiti, and to Romania.
Through their leadership, Calvary Olympia has had the blessing of taking part in what the Lord is doing in Petrosani Romania to encourage the local church pastors and build up the church body. In October of 2015, a group from Calvary Olympia joined the German team from Calvary Chapel Herborn to minister in the local schools and bless the local church.
While the Kathreins are dedicated to their missionary calling, they greatly rely on the support of their home church, CCO. “We’ve been so blessed by the continued support and prayers of our church family back home. The faithfulness and love sent to us in the Lord covers and sustains and blesses us continually! Wow!”
