PURPOSE
The Helps Ministry acts as the “hands and feet of Jesus” to help one-another with non-emergency situations, church events, and other needs of those in the church body. If you are interested in serving the body in any of the following groups, please sign up today. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Helps Ministry Groups
Automotive Repair Group
This group of people has some automotive repair skills. They are willing to assess the need and, if possible, repair it.
Barnabas Group
Barnabas translates to "son of encouragement, consolation, and comfort." Barnabas was known for his comforting and encouraging nature. Barnabas, whose original name was Joseph, was known for his generosity and for advocating for Apostle Paul with the other disciples. If you are a Barnabas, this is the ministry group for you. To bring comfort, encouragement, and generosity to those in need is a blessing to those who receive it.
BBQ Cooks Group
The people in this group like to BBQ and are willing to use their skills at different church events.
Caregiving Group
The people in this group have some experience caring for people with physical needs. You will assess the need and determine if you are able to meet the need and are available when you are notified of the need.
Christmas for the Kids
The people in this group help with the preparation of and the collection of Christmas gifts for the children of families in need who attend CCO. We also use this ministry to minister to one or two families in our community during the season of Jesus' birth.
The Cleaning Group
If you would like to bless others with your cleaning skills, then this is the group for you. There are different reasons why people need to ask for help to clean their homes. Sometimes, the need is here at the church as well. You will have an opportunity to determine if the need is something you are equipped for and available to do when you are notified of the need.
Decorating Group
If you like to decorate, this is the group for you. This group likes to decorate for a variety of church events.
Electrical Repair Group
This group is willing and able to assess the need for an electrical repair, and if possible, do the repair.
Events Group
This is a group for people who like to help before and after church events.
Handyman Group
This is a group of people who like to help others with their various handyman skills. You will assess the need and determine if you are able to meet the need and are available when you are notified of the need.
Helps Ministry Assistant Group
This group is for those who would like to help the Helps Ministry leader or other staff members in a variety of tasks.
Hospital Visitation Group
If you have a heart to visit those who are housebound or are in the Hospital this is the group for you. When a request for visitation is made, I will contact the group with the details of the request. This is a ministry that is such a blessing to those you take the time to visit with.
Hospitality Housing Group
This group of people has extra space at their home and enjoys hosting people for short periods of time.
Laundry Group
Those in this group are willing to wash, dry, and fold towels, aprons, and tablecloths, then returned to the church that were used for different events and ministries here at the church.
Meals & Meal Preparation Group
If you like to cook or are really good at buying takeout, your skills would be very helpful. Some people in this group like to help prepare food for church events. Others like to help individuals/families in need of a meal.
Memorial Service Group
This group has a heart to serve others who are having a memorial service for their loved one. There are different ways that you can be a blessing to these families during this time. I will fill you in with the details when I notify you of the need for your help.
Moving Group
The moving group is people who are willing to help others move, but this does not mean that they are obligated to help every time there is a need. Your help is dependent upon your availability.
Packing Group
If you are good at organizing and packing things, then this is a way that you could help others. This group only packs boxes. You will not be asked to move anything. You are not obligated to help with every packing need. Your availability determines when you can help.
Rentals Group
This is a group of people who have property to rent to families or individuals.
Secretarial Group
If you would like to use your skills to help in the church office or with other church staff who have secretarial-type projects to be done, then this is the group for you. From time to time, we need help for various reasons on a variety of different projects.
Serving at the Church Events Group
Church events take many hands working together to prepare for an event, help during the event, and, of course, clean up and put things away after the event. We do this to bless the people who will be attending the event. If you have a heart to serve before, during, or after a church event, then this would be the group for you to join.
Sewing Group
If you like to Sew then this is a way you can bless others with your talent. The needs that come up vary from projects around the church to sewing costumes for the drama team, and even some requests for alterations.
Transportation & Running Errands Group
This group likes to help others get to where they need to be and is also willing to run a few errands as needed.
Yard Work Group
The Yard Work group is people who enjoy helping others with yard work and outdoor chores. This is not an ongoing type of help; it is more for seasonal and special projects. Your help is dependent upon your availability and skill.
