PURPOSE
The Helps Ministry acts as the “hands and feet of Jesus” to help those in need at the church from non-emergency situations, church events, and more.
Humbling ourselves to ask for help is often difficult, but receiving that help is so much easier when it is given with the love of Jesus. When problems arise, we encourage you to first seek help among your established friends and small groups here at CCO. For instance, through your Home Group or among those at your Bible study. If your needs still cannot be met, then please contact us.

Helps Ministry Groups
Automotive Repair
This group of people has some automotive repair skills. They are willing to assess your need and, if possible, make the repair.
Barnabas
Barnabas translates to the "son of encouragement, consolation, and comfort". Barnabas was known for his comforting and encouraging nature. Barnabas, whose original name was Joseph, was known for his generosity and for advocating for Apostle Paul with the other disciples.
If you are a Barnabas, this is the ministry group for you. To be able to bring comfort, encouragement, and generosity to others in need is a blessing to those who receive it.
BBQ Cooks
The people in this group like to BBQ and are willing to use their skills at different events that the church may organize.
Caregiving
The people in this group have some experience with taking care of those with physical needs. They may be available for a few hours occasionally to help someone after a surgery or overcoming and illness.
Christmas for the Kids
The people in this group help to facilitate the preparation of, and the collection of Christmas gifts to help families in need in our church body. We also use this ministry to minister to one or two families in our community during the season of Jesus' birth.
Cleaning
If you would like to bless others by cleaning something, then this is the group for you. There are different reasons why people need to ask for help to clean their homes. Sometimes the need is here at the church. You will have an opportunity to determine if the need is something you are equipped for and available to do when you are notified of the need.
Decorating
If you like to decorate, this is the group for you. This group likes to decorate for a variety of church events.
Electrical Repair
This group of people is willing and able to assess the need for an electrical repair, and if possible, do those repairs.
Events
This is a group for people who like to help before and after church events.
Handyman
This is a group of people who like to help others with their various handyman skills.
Helps Ministry Assistant
This group is for those who would like to help the Helps Ministry leader in a variety of tasks.
Hospital Visitation
If you have a heart to visit those who are housebound or are in the Hospital this is the group for you. When a request for visitation is made, I will contact the group with the details of the request. This is a ministry that is such a blessing to those you take the time to visit with.
Hospitality Housing
This group of people has extra space at their home and enjoys hosting people for short periods of time.
Laundry
Those who are in this group are willing to wash, dry, and fold towels and tablecloths that were used by different events and ministries, then return them to the church.
Meals & Meal Preparation
If you like to cook or are really good at buying takeout, your skills would be very helpful. Some people in this group like to help prepare food for church events. Others like to help individuals/families in need of meals.
Memorial Service
This group of people has a heart to serve others who are having a memorial service for their loved one. There are different ways that you can be a blessing to these families during this time. I will fill you in with the details when I notify you of the need for your help.
Moving
The moving group is people who are willing to help others move, but this does not mean that they are obligated to help every time there is a need. Your help is dependent upon your availability.
Packing
If you are good at organizing and packing things, then this is a way that you could help others. This group only packs boxes. You will not be asked to move anything. You are not obligated to help with every packing need. Your availability determines when you can help.
Rentals
This is a group of people who have property to rent to families or individuals.
Secretarial
If you would like to use your skills to help in the church office or with other church staff who have secretarial-type projects to be done, then this is the group for you. From time to time, we need help for various reasons on a variety of different projects.
Serving at the Church Events
Church events take many hands working together to prepare for an event, help during the event, and, of course, clean up and put things away after the event. We do this to bless the people who will be attending the event. If you have a heart to serve before, during, or after a church event, then this would be the group for you to join.
Sewing
If you like to Sew then this is a way you can bless others with your talent. The needs that come up vary from projects around the church to sewing costumes for the drama team, and even some requests for alterations.
Transportation & Running Errands
This group likes to help others get to where they need to be and is also willing to run a few errands as well.
Yard Work
The Yard Work group is people who enjoy helping others with yard work and outdoor chores. This is not an ongoing type of help; it is more for seasonal and special projects. Your help is dependent upon your availability and your skill.
