Samaritan's purse

The Team: Dennis, Manny, Stacy, Daniel, Dallas, & Gary
Our team from CCO spent 3 days working with Samaritan's Purse in the areas of Lynden & Sumas, WA to help homeowners cleanup their homes after they experienced massive amounts of flooding. Many of these homeowners had their homes flooded only 4 years prior and some had not yet even finished their repairs from the last flood.

It was wonderful to see how the community came together to help everyone out. There were regular crews with trucks, trailers, and excavators helping to remove debris from the streets and repair roads and driveways. Many people flew in from around the country to help with Samaritan's Purse and our team was one of the very first to arrive on site.

We spent our days helping to tear out sheetrock, insulation, and flooring so they could get their homes dried out quickly before mold forms and to get it repaired quickly so they could move back in. Many people had to scramble to find other places to live and most of their furniture, beds, cabinets, and appliances were all destroyed and needed to be replaced. While we only spent a few days here, we know that our efforts and that of the rest of the volunteers made a big impact on the lives of those affected. We continue to pray for them and thankful to the Lord for including us in His work.
